DreamScene Activator: Activate DreamScene In All Editions Of Windows 7 & Vista

DreamScene Activator is a freeware from door2windows that allows you to activate DreamScene in all editions of Windows 7 & Vista. This is the only freeware on the net that has the desktop text bug fixed.

DreamScene is a feature that allows users to set any video in WMV/MPG format as the desktop wallpaper. This feature was only included in Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

How to use:

  1. Run the tool as administrator.
  2. Click the slider. Wait until it says ON.

  3. Right-Click on any video in WMV/MPG format and select Set as DreamScene.

If you run this app for the first time then restart your PC. Now the video that you selected will be set as the desktop wallpaper.

    I’m still having the “unreadable” text on the desktop icons… any new recomendation? I’m using Windows 7 x64 together with Fences and Rainmeter…

    I got DreamScene to work (DreamScene is currently: ON) But i cant figure out how to turn on Aero I ran the wizard and my computer can handle it I assume becuase there are no error messages I went to this site: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproperf/thread/5322425f-6b5f-44bf-bc20-726a1229b0d3
    and fallowed the steps it said
    Force Enable Aero in Windows 7
    1. Click on Start and type regedit at run
    2. Now Navigate to the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsDWM
    3. In the right details pane, create following Three DWORD (32-bit value) entry
    UseMachineCheck, and set its value to 0.
    Blur, and set its value to 0.
    Animations, and set its value to 0.
    4. Close Regedit
    5. Click on Start and type CMD with administrative Priviliges
    6. Now type following command
    Net Stop uxsms
    Net Start uxsms
    Above command will stop and start Desktop Window Manager Session Manager.
    7. Now you can turn on Aero by right clicking on desktop-> Personalize -> Select Windows Colors
    but it still is not working. I cannot see the animation just the first frame on some WMV and on other I dont get the option to add as desktop.

    You are the man, as I was wondering why any DS activator is not working, but same as you, first I do is tune-up a little bit the system and animations are off-ed at the start :)
    10x for the post now icons have text :)
    Maybe Kishan should make some check for performance options enabled, bcz a lot of optimizer apps do it for you if U do not DIY ;)

    works great but when i restart or shutdown my computer, i have to manually play the dreamscene by right clicking on my desktop/ play dreamscene, is ther a fix for this, is anyone else experienceing this

    where it has the download button right click and put ‘ Open Link In A New Tab ‘ it should then work :D
