Windows 7 Taskbar Items Pinner: Pin Files, Folders & Web Pages To Windows 7 Taskbar

Windows 7 Taskbar Items Pinner is a freeware from door2windows that allows you to pin files, folders & web pages to your Windows 7 taskbar. Normally, the Pin to Taskbar option only works with EXE files but this tool enables you to pin any file of any extension, any folder & even web pages.

How to use:

Just run the tool, and select the pre-defined items that you want to pin. It will pin them instantly.

If you want to pin a custom file/folder, then follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the button near Path and select File if you want to pin a file or select Folder if you want to pin a folder.

  2. Click on the button near Icon and select the icon of the file or folder.
  3. If you want to change the icon no, just type your desired icon no in the textbox before the button.

  4. Click Add Item.

If you want to pin a webpage, then follow the steps below:

  1. Type the full path of the webpage in the textbox near Path.
  2. Click on the button near Icon and select the icon of the file or folder.
  3. If you want to change the icon no, just type your desired icon no in the textbox before the button.

  4. Click Add Item.

It will now pin the webpage.

Command Line Usage

<Name> <IconFile> <IconNo> <Path>
For example : door2windows shell32.dll 14 http://www.door2windows.com/
If you want to ask for the name then use &ask& <IconFile> <IconNo> <Path>

    “Pin to Taskbar”=”Fixare program la bara de activități”
    “Unpin from Taskbar”=”Anulare fixare program la bara de activități”

    I found that there may be a different translation to the “Pin to Taskbar” string. When i try to pin a program that’s oppened, by right-clicking it on the taksbar, it says “Fixare program la bara de activități”. But when i try to pin a exe file that’s on my desktop, for example, it says “Fixare la bara de activități”

    Presume “no” means number. But lets say I want to add a PNG icon of the internet. Where can I find it’s no (number)?

    Yes they are working. I’ve tried about 15 over all of them and no problem at all.
    And after unpined them one by one I’ve a suggestion about adding the possibility to be able to unpin more than one item at time (maybe to be able to select more of one item from the “Currently Pinned Items” panel.

    I’ve downloaded again your program and tried it but can’t find how to use this functionality.
    I blieved that it will be possible using the CTRL key and select more that one item but
    doesn’t work here. Can you please tell me how to do it or maybe there is a glitch so it doesn’t work

    I’ve tried the “integrate in context menu” and works also works fine. Anyway, is it possible to have the contexte menu entry not in english but, in this case, in french ? What will you need to be able to do that if it’s possible ?

    Hi Kishan,

    i hvae tested.
    When i Type: Computer, the Computer open. When i Type: c: windows, the windows folder open. When i Type shell:computer, nothing open.

    I used win 7 x86 Italian :
    with beta version with default application nothing appears on taskbar;
    Change in file .ini italian string with these:
    it1=Aggiungi alla barra delle applicazioni
    it2=Rimuovi dalla barra delle applicazioni
    now it seems all good…

    the Spanish string is wrong, the correct one is:

    I checked the beta version modified, but the italian strings are:
    it1=Aggiungi alla barra applicazioni
    it2=Togli dalla barra applicazioni

    instead you have to use:
    it1=Aggiungi alla barra delle applicazioni
    it2=Rimuovi dalla barra delle applicazioni

    getting errors on win7-64 bit… where exactly are we supposed to unzip it to run correctly???

    I was also having trouble with a user who wanted this functionality but didnt have local admin rights. The way I got around it was to temporarily give them admin rights, set up the pinned program they wanted, and then remove the rights. The program remained pinned and functional.

    If you like we can exchange some ideas about this PIN stuff, for example i know how to automatically deal with the different languages without the need of the static verbs…
    I’m interested in what you do to pin items that normally don’t have the option for that.

    does not work here at all, Win7 32bit English version
    get this error message: Unhandled exception has occured in your aplication
    Access to the path C:Windowsw7tip*is denied.

    If look in that path, there are no trace of the filder/prog

    I don’t see these strings included in current beta’s Translations.ini. But I tried manually adding them as tr1/tr2 and it worked.
