Sweet… Thanks for ANOTHER great tool!

Slight bug, if you mouse over the other entries of the start menu, the pitures for Network, Run, Computer etc appear, and then the User picture reappears but without the frame, rerun the utility to add the User picture back, rerun again to remove, mouse over start menu entires, and the picture is back again, without the frame. Just an FYI.

Every time I test and run your applications explorer crashes I need to restart my computer to get into windows 7 , is there any thing wrong in your application or wrong in my computer .

Utter rubbish. This app constantly crashes and throws unhandled exception errors. And why on earth do we need to run as admin?? That's just shoddy programming IMO.
If you are lucky enough to get it working, the picture isn't actually removed as the frame flickers in and out when navigating the Start Menu.
You seriously need to consider revising this app …. you know, so it works (for everyone!)!!

Still doing the same thing…. user pic still there after hoover over other optionson the start menu just without frame.

I just tried on another computer… Windows 7 32-Bit Pro and it doesnt even remove the user picture now.

Can you post the error log?

There is no error log. When I select remove user picture it then opens my control panel and a message pops up saying Please wait… then thats it

Yes, you need to use the theme the app has installed. Check out the Personalize window. Apply the new theme and the start menu user picture would be gone.

Okay, I want to get rid of the user pic and other main icons, documents and such, but is there any way I can get this to edit my current theme? It seems to remove it but only if I use the theme it installed, which is basically default without the pic. Can I edit the theme to a different color?

Hello, this is my first time in the page and I downloaded the application “Remove Start Menu User Picture” because I don't like it in my Start Menu, but I got an error:”Exception not controlled in application. System cannot find specified file” (Continue – Exit)

Can you please tell me what to edit via reshack manual to remove it? I have open my explorer in reshack, and i found the bitmaps of user pic, but i don't know how to remove it completely.

Hey Kishan i found the error.

It's my fault, i use windows classic with 3dcc.
This works only in aero mode. I checked the personalize and your theme is there, with no user pic.

Its possible to do it works in some way, with classic to?

See, this works really well if you use the Aero theme. If you don't, then this doesn't help in the slightest. Is there any way to get rid of the user picture frame WITHOUT using Aero?

It's still pretty great though. I used it once, and it worked perfectly. It's just that I prefer not to use Aero. Thanks anyways though! Great program!

I think so. I took Windows 7 Start Menu User Picture Remover from this site and ran as admin (right mouse button and run as admin?).
I don’t know if it matters but in Polish Windows 7 Ultimate Start Menu is wider (about 30%).
I also used short Polish program to change it to thinner English version (it modifies file aero.msstyles.mui ) but it didn’t help.
